Rise of Uvirith Disclaimer

Wed Oct 14, 2009, 4:18 AM
I've noticed that my Morrowind story, Rise of Uvirith, has been getting some attention outside of my social circle. This pleases me greatly, but it also strikes me with a realization. While I did post a bit of a warning on my second chapter, my readers are bound to be hit with that I warned them about before they get to the warning. Thus, I shall re-iterate and add onto that warning with this disclaimer.

Anyone who reads anything that I put on here, be warned. I do not hold back. My work is bound to be laced with profanity because, to be honest, I'm apt to use it in real life, sometimes without thinking. I've been this way since childhood which I know is NOT a good thing, but despite the attempts of my own and of others to change this, I've come to the realization that this is just the way I am. Thus, by delegation, my characters will be cut of a similar cloth. So expect the shit to hit the fan (c wut I did thar?). XD

Also, and this next bit applies in a big way to my Morrowind fanfic, put on your thinking caps. The story is laced with innuendo, deception, and in some rare cases, some serious mindgames. When I say I don't hold back, I don't just mean my language. The story is written in such a way that the reader is left to discern what's really going on for themselves. Hints are abound, especially in my comments after the fact (^_^) and some truths are brought to light during the course of the story (which will happen a lot later on), but some lies and illusions are never brought to light on their own. Speculate, derive, but most importantly, imagine.

In DnD, no matter how vividly detailed a DM makes his world, nothing in it exists unless the players experience it. I'd like to think the same is true for writing. No matter how much detail you put into your story mentally, it means shit unless your readers have seen the detail in their own minds. So, please, I implore you, keep your mind open as you read, and treat it like a good mystery. Always speculate how the story is going.

Well, enough of my blathering, enjoy the show (so to speak). =D

Okay, according to my statistics, SOMEBODY is paying attention to my page. o.o So, since I do have fans somewhere out there, I'll be getting off of my lazy ass and working on Ch.10 later today.

And whoever's reading this: please do leave a comment or reply to this one so I'll at least know who you are. ^_^;;
